Write and Write Again.

First Draft

First Draft

The writing is still going well. I’m pleased with myself for finishing the first draft of my new book – I’ve been stuck in a sea of half-finished manuscripts for far too long! I can always write, I just keep getting sidetracked with a wonderful new idea…

I still haven’t heard from Hodderscape. Their open submission window was what got me going again. It’s either very good – they said would contact all submissions they would not be moving forward with by the end of the year – or very bad – my manuscripts could have been lost again. I had to resubmit because they went missing the first time, but I did get an acknowledgement. I am tending towards the ‘got lost again’. I may have got lucky with one, but both would be VERY unlikely. And they received around 1 500 submissions! Although if I just made it to a second reading it would be very positive.

I will say that the comments section on the open submissions page has more people being exquisitely polite while seething with impatience than I have ever seen in my life…

I have been tatting away as well. Anyone interested can have a look at at my tatting blog here.

Tatted Cross Bookmark

This bookmark is Laura from Tatted Bookmarks by Lene Bjorn. My son took one look and asked why it had antennae. Now that’s all I can see.

Ah, the imaginative vision of children… And now I can’t see anything but antennae, too! šŸ™‚

I hope you hear from the publisher soon. Good luck!

  3. Oh wow! I love tatting. Haven’t done any for ages but I was OBSESSED with it in my early 20s (being the tragic, lace-loving goth I was back then). Love your work. Will go check out your tatting blog now. šŸ™‚

Oh, and I hope you hear back about your submission soon.

Yes, I love the tatted piece. And also good luck with your sub to Hodderscape.
