I survived the perils of big city driving. The Navigation System and I have agreed to disagree on some points – but I didn’t do too badly.
The neurologist has said she thinks it is a form of Parkinson’s disease – apparently there areΒ range of them. I hadn’t connected Parkinson’s with dementia, but apparently it can be one of the symptoms.
He is on a new medication, and we go back in a month.
Thank you for the update and also thank goodness you managed the journey – sounds like you hammered out a standard relationship with the many stresses and oddities of the satnav world π
Also good that you might be getting somewhere. All worrying and frightening but at least with some sort of ‘map’ plans for a direction/journey based on a framework can begin to be made. Good luck with the new meds and all mental support I can muster from here to you all.
Thanks! Hugely appreciated.
Yes, Parkinson and dementia can be sometimes connected but today there are wonderful treatments that will assure a long and very good life!
Ciao
Sid
Thank you.
Hi, My husband was just diagnosed with Parkinson’s also from Agent Orange. I never knew there were different forms. He scored high on his cognitive abilities but he has slow gait, tremor in his hand, weakness on right side and one shoulder sits about 6 inches higher than his other one. Yes, there are a lot of good meds we were told. We were also told you don’t die FROM Parkinson’s, you die WITH it. So at least it is not a terminal diagnosis . Glad you were able to master the gps. lol
Thanks for the information!
If not for the GPS I would still be driving around Johannesburg… π
Glad you made it there and back! Actually, Parkinson’s might be a good diagnosis in some ways – there is so much research done on it, and so many treatments available. My dad has just been diagnosed with it as well, it is scary in some ways, but to me, much less scary than some other awful things it might have been. ALS, or Alzheimers for instance. I hope that yoru doctors are able to find a treatment plan that works for you.
And think how you ahve already grown – now you know the way to the doctor’s and back! π
Yes – still wouldn’t try it without the GPS though… π
Well done with the driving. π
Hope the medication works well, and things settle down for you now.
Hugs from me. π
Thank you. Much appreciated.
You are both stronger than you may believe. May you not have to use it all through the coming challenges. Wishing you peace (and working meds!). Blessed Be.
Thank you so much.
Parkinson’s seems to be coming more prevalent, so hopefully, more research and help for your husband.
Thanks. Lets hope there is something out there.
Oh no…….. I am sorry that I was busy and hadn’t visited your blog for a while. So, I didn’t know that what’s going on with you. I am shocked when I read your post. I am praying for you and him.
Thank you.
